In order to promote a work-life balance and encourage family bonding, Havas will provide up to ten (10) weeks of paid parental leave to employees following the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with an adoption or foster care. The purpose of the policy is to provide eligible employees with a period of paid time off to care for and bond with a newly born or adopted child.

  


Eligible Employee Must Meet the Following Criteria:

•       Have been employed with Havas for at least six (6) months

•       Be a full or part time, regular employee (temporary employees and interns are not eligible); and

•      Have given birth to a child; be a spouse or committed partner of someone who has given birth to a child; or have welcomed a new child through a surrogate, foster care, or adoption.

Where the employee is the one who has given birth, the ten (10) weeks of paid parental leave will commence at the conclusion of any short-term disability leave (6 or 8 weeks depending on the type of birth) / benefit provided to the employee for the employee’s own medical recovery following childbirth.

Eligible employees will receive a maximum of ten (10) weeks of paid parental leave per birth or adoption. The fact that multiple births or adoptions take place (e.g., birth of twins) does not increase the ten (10) week total amount of paid parental leave granted for the event. In no case will an employee receive more than ten (10) weeks of paid parental leave in a rolling twelve (12)-month period.

Approved paid parental leave may be taken any time during the twelve (12)-month period immediately following the birth or adoption. Paid parental leave may be taken intermittently, as agreed between the employee and manager. Paid parental leave may not be used or extended beyond the twelve (12)-month time frame nor combined with use of the company’s Flexible Time Off policy. Any unused paid parental leave will be forfeited at the end of the twelve (12)-month time frame.
